so long story short, one of my boys is trying to get me to sign up with this company called Vemma.

Basically the gist of this is to recruit new members (esp. college students) to Purchase their items and to eventually join the team. I went to one of their meetings this weekend and they talk about all this stuff like how students make thousands of dollars a year just by recruiting other people (thru social media) and using their product.

At first i was like "I'm Gonna Sign Up!":gladbron:

but then, as usual, i was like :whoa::comeon: and did some research

To be honest though this shyt basically is like a Pyramid scheme:patrice: :skip:

What do you guys think

There's a big thread we did on on the mlm shyt out there 5linx, Cutco, Primerica, Oregano Gold, etc

Basically the fundamental problem is this, they make it seem as if there's some infinite supply of people that you can recruit who can then recruit others, who can recruit others. Which is complete bullshyt, first off no reputable company would ever market their product/service as something that has some "unlimited" reach, there's always a limit simply because there's only X amount of people in the world period and you can't market your product to EVERYBODY in the world because not everybody is going to want to use your product/service.

The problem here is one of common sense. At a mere three levels deep this would be 1,000 people. There goes the neighborhood! At six levels deep, that would be 1,000,000 people believing they can make money selling. But to whom? There goes the city! And the MLM is just getting its steam going. Think of all the meetings! Think of all the "dreams" being sold! Think of the false hopes being generated. Think of the money being lost.

To add I think by 8 levels deep, that's every man woman and child on Earth with the addition of a shyt ton more aliens. So the question you have to ask yourself is what level do you think youre on?

This shyt really pisses me off for some reason because they prey on so many gullible and despondent people, those are the people who end becoming the suckers when shyt hits the fan.

Hell
I know nikkas from college who joined that shyt and each & every one of them quit

If you aren't gonna spend ridiculous hours recruiting people you probably won't even make your 500 dollar investment back

Thats what I figured. At some point you just run out of people to recruit, esp. if they already heard of it. Hell all the people I talked to on campus had already heard about it and they either joined and quit or they just said no. The only people to recruit are those who are completely out of the loop ( i had no Idea about this so i guess I was out the loop) and the ones who just got a ton of money to blow.

Exactly. A friend of mine a year ago almost got suckered into this exact verve energy shyt. And I pretty much gave him the same spiel I just gave you. And just like I told him no less than a couple months later the same people trying to get him to do it ended up quitting themselves. I got suckered into Cutco at 17 fresh outta high school, I quit after a month. Luckily for me Cutco knives are a pretty good quality product and I was able to resell those shyts on eBay. And I still got paid about $100 for my time there.

At the meeting they were talking about students making $1,000 even 10,000 a month off Vemma. They were also talking about how some college students were given BMW's already paid for. I was like :whoo::whew::ohlawd: where's the application.

But I thought about that shyt some more.

I Can't call it a scam b/c there are people who make money off it, but it seems like the likelihood of getting something out of it (esp. now) is rare. Plus Like you said I don't have time to recruit people like that.

I don't necessarily doubt some ppl make money but the vast majority don't and best believe those ppl making 10k really WORKED for that. You have to keep the "morale" of your team high for you to keep seeing those returns.
