Except for the part where Caterpie and metapod, like all other pokemon have aspects of their evolutions in venomoth. Hell venonat is pretty much Butterfree without wings from the mouth shape, hands, feet, compound eyes body color and antennae. How many pokemon are drastically different from their evolutions in the same way?

Gnats and moths are apart of the same family tree. That family tree doesn't include caterpillars or butterflies.



Weedle and beedrill are drastically different.
