Versus wasn't actually bad. The stage performance was a little hit or miss at times. Snoop killed it for No Limit.

I did wish this was in the Superdome instead of Vegas. Would've felt more authentic and grassroots of sorts.

Wish Wayne was there too. Also, at the same time, for for purposes of the Versus, I think you'd have to exclude every Wayne album after Carter I as all of them lost that NO soul to them.

I think this slate of songs was pretty close.
Even though Mannie Fresh still did the bulk of 500 Degreez, I really think THAT’s when they started losing that N.O. soul. To me the only Wayne stuff you can play in that setting are his first two albums, Hot Boyz verses and general feature verses from around that same time.

These are probably the funniest and most truthful videos I’ve seen in response to that Verzuz.

Only thing to hope for is they do like how they used to do for concerts is say Wayne couldn’t make it then The Block is Hot comes on & he comes running out

Yea,

that was stuck in the back of my head thru the whole show.

Truth be told "Cash Money Is An Army" is a top 5 CMR single

Yep

It's the video that really made me take notice. I thought HA was just a gimmick song.

definitely around then, I think. Maybe even the year before when they started recording their music in Atlanta instead of exclusively at the Cash Money studio in Metairie. Maybe when Mack 10 was there for a single album deal.... or Project English.

Man its crazy what Birdman lucked into with Wayne.......cause when Juve left them niccas was in trouble :wow:

More like Wayne was lucky he had birdman.

Yall better put some respekk on his name.

This No Limit-Cash Money battle is way more generational than people even realize. Mr. Ice Cream man dropped in early 96 and is going up against Number 1 Stunna which dropped in 2000. That's a WHOLE generational class from middle school & high school

.yea. most people really don't get it.

I always hated the false narrative that cash money ended No Limit's run.

This was the first time we truly got to match both labels up prime-for-prime. This was also a battle of 90s vs 2000s, and yea for me it's middle school vs high school.
