What yrs were those? Ole Boy said Def Jam eas ready to drop him.
When was Def Jam ready to drop Jay? Sound like some bullshyt. Since Vol 2 this nikka made so much money for Def Jam it's ridiculous. Only someone who rewrites history or wasn't there would even consider this shyt as valid.

2Pac
Nas
DMX
LL Cool J
Slick Rick
Rakim
Kane

^^^ none of them have solo #1's.
DMX definitely has solo number 1 songs. So this is cap. I'm pretty sure Pac does too. But this aint even about number 1s. It's about hit records in general. A song doesn't have to be number 1 to be a hit record.

Dude is talking about Billboard #1 hits. Jays first Billboard rap(the chart that makes more sense) solo hit was in 1999 with Jigga My nikka

Still had multiple platinum solo albums. Hit records should never mean much unless you’re a mainstream fan only. I look at that kind of music as watered down industry junk.
