i’m just gonna say it… I dislike ‘Respec’

i know people hate the idea of being locked into bad builds but that should be the motivation for a future playthrough for a game. Otherwise it just makes build choices feel inconsequential. Like if I’m going through a game role playing as a barbarian and all it takes is for me to talk to an npc and become a wizard it just feels like i throwing a large aspect of the meta ‘role playing’ out the window.

I feel you but playing Cyberpunk for the 15th playthrough cause you find out a skill sucks or build sucks or you wanna try something else is mind numbing...

Especially with these long ass games that you are not going to replay ever again

spoken dialogue with badly-timed subtitles. If I can read the line before it is said, I honestly don't need it said. Putting the whole speech paragraph on screen at once just wastes my damn itme.

Yea the older I get the more I agree….i use to have the opposite opinion.

Those type of games that feel like you need to watch a Ted Talk course on the game before you can start playing.

Then don't respec. Not everyone wants to play a 100 plus hour game more than once. I think Elden Ring nailed the respec mechanic. Lock it behind rare items.

For me, putting survival/crafting mechanics into everything.

Frame data in fighting games. I like to eyeball the shyt rather than turning fighting into basic math and hate that it turns every player literally into a "By the numbers" ass nikka.

I wish it was hidden more like it used to be and tbh that the frames were actually more variable to an extent in the first place.

I got to manage 20 stats and 10 item/weapon slots? Classes? I'm trying to play a game, not work on an excel sheet. And then it locks you out of a lot of the content if you have the wrong stats. Leave me alone.
