:pachaha: i think X can also think swizz for Ruff Riders Anthem and for being the architect for the whole sound of the RR movement..

and we see who's doing better w/ out the other :patrice:

This.

That whole movement was so strong back then, anyone droppin' an album on that label from '98-'99 was set pretty much. Swizz took over! Everyone had a damn track from him on their album, from Rock to R&B. That was a crazy machine that RR had over there.

He's just always been about music, even if he had to drop a couple albums rappin'. LOL! Everyone else who had huge success from RR got into clothing lines, films and TV heavy. And they kinda lost their hold with the music.

I don't like every beat that Swizz makes, but I respect his passion for being present and always bein' Hip Hop. He's always had his own sound and never really bit or worried about followin' trends. He's started a few himself. I don't see how cats can't appreciate the work this dude's done.

Like Swizz said, Jay's an innovator. And a lot of people can't relate to innovation.

One thing I can say about Hov is, he's been outthinking rappers and corporate America for well over a decade. I can see why he gets the hate he does, because people can't relate. They just can't. Once you start overachieving, you lose the love. But there isn't a rapper out that wouldn't kill for the career this dude has had so far.

How could people be fine with corporate America fukkin' over Hip Hop and snatchin' its power from the people? But have an issue with one of our own, a rapper from Brooklyn, takin' control of his own brand and usin' the same tactics that they've used against us, to push his own dreams forward and provide opportunities for others. I don't get it.

Jay can do whatever he wants, and Im cool with it......because...

Guys like Jay, Em, Dre, Diddy, etc.....they have given career opportunities to others who maybe not have been able to achieve them through conventional means. Its because of guys like them.....that there a few less people out there hittin' the block not knowing when they are gonna get picked up

Exactly!

Clark Kent said one time that he had to force Jay to rap and get off the corner. Foxy mentioned this recently again in her Combat Jack interview. These cats are from some of the most fukked up places in the country. This music has probably saved their lives in more ways than one, but it has also given them a power that isn't granted so easily.

What they have isn't something you just walk into. What Em has done, comin' from where he's from with the kinda background he is, is just miraculous type shyt. Dre has had to rebuild his career like 4 times! These dudes didn't just have success fall into their laps, they've worked. So I respect them all for what they've been able to do. I don't see how someone can't. The hate is what happens when people don't believe in themselves. When they don't think they can do the same. But I think we see every year that some other kid thinks differently, and starts to make his way toward that same greatness. Those are the few that get it.
