Work to generate income which will then feed the government in the form of taxes and companies in the form of consumption (of course if your work is depressing you, that's necessary a bad thing because you will then need have a stronger need for escapism during the weekends, i.e. more consumption). Hope that you reach retirement age so that you can get to enjoy the fruits of your labor. That's unless the economy/job market crashes.
Basically trade the best years of your life for the hope of freedom when you're ailing and close to death, if you even make it that far
