Views is Drake's commercial peak, but after this he'll become irrelevant. Here's why

I doubt it. Didn't jay z have a poor album, but still came back from it?

Beyonce's 4 didn't sell well either, but look at her now.

There is no one to replace him. People are extremely loyal to their faves, especially when there is no one to replace them.

He will take a brake after this and maybe focus on acting or something (48 laws), but he won't be irrelevant anytime soon. Everyone still likes him, hates him, wants to be him or be with him. Blogs, women, men and rih. He isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I have yet to hear his album, but I don't think it'll be as bad as some of you say. I personally do not like his album with future or nwts, but you all seem to love it. I've heard hotline bling, and one dance, they sound fine to me.

These are legitimate points, but I think there are a few differences here. Jay was coming back out of retirement, so people were more likely to forgive him and give him a pass for a weak project, while Views was hyped to be a generation defining album. Listeners who don't like it feel much more disappointed. And Beyonce is a pop artist, in that genre there's a lot less obsession with falling off. With rap, artists are like wolves; once someone is perceived to fall off, everyone's gunning for their spot.

I don't think Drake will immediately disappear, and he might not even have a huge sales drop. But he'll never do a milli first week again, and his influence will definitely start to go. Not everyone will be trying to sound like Drake anymore.

:camby:Ya'll try way too hard. This doesn't change anything. It sold what it sold and people will have their opinions of it regardless. It will be the same story with the next album. When people get tired of Drake, none of this will even matter. Everybody just wants to be there to say "I told you it would happen" as if they weren't saying the same thing about everything he's dropped. Of course him having a commercial fall off will happen eventually because things like that are inevitable. What's funnier is that Drake's naysayers don't even know they are a part of the hype machine that keeps the ball rolling. You're still talking about him even when it's negative and all it does it create more interest and intrigue because people who were on the fence are like "why are people that don't even like him discussing him". Someone made a Donald Trump comparison and I think it fits. If the Republican establishment and Trump's opponents didn't go so hard to stop him, he probably wouldn't even be the nominee right now. They made him into a force that must be stopped, thus turning him into the anti-politician, which fed right into his agenda. They victimized him and made themselves look like the enemy. It gave the media something to eat up and gave Donald Trump free promotion.

There is something you're overlooking and it is a big one. Toronto and basically damn near Canada is supporting him and I bet if you look at sales regionally Canada probably accounts for the majority of the sales. They will not let him fail, they see him as their ambassador.
