For whatever genius Vince has brought to pro-wrestling, perhaps his most underrated skill is picking commentary talent.
Not everyone can be a commentator, and those that can't, often fail horribly.
Gorilla Monsoon - former wrestler turned GOAT commentator
Jesse Ventura - see above
Bobby Heenan - maybe he was an easy choice, but still was a manger/wrestler before
Lawler - was still an active wrestler, but Vince brought him in and made him a commentator. Prime Lawler is untouchable on the mic
Macho Man - had a short stint, but was very good as a converted commentator
Taz - who EVER saw that one coming??? Turning Taz, ECW's human suplex machine, into a commentator?
But it worked and he became one of the greats and gave Taz far longer career than he would've had.
Byron Saxton - another former wrestler going absolutely NOWHERE, now turned commentator, and probably the future of WWE commentators.
Booker T - who would've ever saw Booker T in this position? Not only a commentator, but a very good panel host.
Otunga - he's not great, but he is good when he was on the RAW pre-show.
JBL - he's been better in the past, but whoever saw Hawk Bradshaw as a commentator
