Wrong. Here's one way it could affect you: let's suppose that you need to hire a contractor to work on your house. You accept bids from 2 applicants. The one that you didn't choose can say that you didn't hire him because he is a woman (maybe he only dresses as female after work). Even though the losing contractor is a Big Jahh looking breh, he can claim to identify as female (no surgery required), get a birth certificate to substantiate his claim, and sue you for discrimination.

That wasn't my argument. What I said was that in an already overly litigious environment (like the Commomwealth of Virginia), people will now have yet another way to file a frivilous lawsuit.
Beyond lawsuits, another obvious problem is for those people in the dating pool who want to date a biological male or female.
Yet another problem is for people (specifically women and/or students) who now can be legally forced to share locker rooms and restrooms with transgenders.
My point is that this ruling will have a larger effect than you may realize.
