after using PSVR and Eurogamer Expo, and the samsung VR I've realised VR has the same issues as KINNECT and that is the issue with movement. both KINNECT and VR only really work when the game is 'on rails' the games where you use a control for movement feels awkward and makes the VR a glorified camera control. this isn't even to mention about how bad PSVR graphics are. but the main issue is movement, you couldnt really move i.e walk through enviroments using kinnect and you cant with VR

The HTC Vive is better than all that trash.

In a nice setup it is :blessed:

Also, the Kinect is elementary compared to all the VR headsets and really should not be a part of this discussion. That thing is a glorified webcam.

I was half way through paying off the PSVR through an amazon allowance I setup but I got cold feet and canceled it. Decided to lock down some 2017 games instead. I didn't want a potential $400 L.
It definitely won't be an L. Hell you can buy the launch bundle and most likely be able to dump it for $700 in the aftermarket after release if you don't like it.

:whew: smart man shyt is about to be a paper weight
It's possible, but the initial demand will be there.

I am trying to dump 2 of my pre-orders in September to subsidize the cost on my end. If I can't get two people to bite I am cancelling all 3 of my preorders I have open. Eff it, I probably won't use it anyway since I will be on that Titanfall 2 crack.

the Vive has 360 tracking, and you can walk around

Have you played star citizen with the oculus rift? That is an experience.

VR works really well with flight sims and racecar sims. I suspect it will work well with mech games as well.

FPS games would need to be totally redesigned because that does not work.

Google cardboard is a good cheap entry product if you want to see if you like it.

I've said it before but, VR is just a compilation of all the failed gaming tech over the last decade.

Wii controller+Kinect camera+Goofy ass 3D glasses= VR

And somehow people are convinced this is gonna be a smashing success:francis:
I can understand the concern, but I think I do agree with @Ciggavelli in where Oculus likely has the ideal solution for playing with an xbox controller instead of paddles like the HTC Vive.

The Vive is just the technically more advanced headset, but the paddles worry me. I had a lot of fun with it, but we are way too early to see if it will be a huge success anyway. The PS VR is the one that has the chance to really get this to mass market, but I am not sure with it running on PS4 hardware :francis:

What do you mean you're not sure??

THE shyt EXISTS AND WILL BE OUT IN A FEW MONTHS, IF IT WASN'T GOING TO WORK IT WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN BEEN DEVELOPED.

breh, VR HAS to run at 60fps minimum or 90fps LOCKED in order to not make people sick. The mandate on that is FAR more important than regular games where frame drops and w/e is nothing. This isn't a matter of some games running like shyt, if the game can't run at 60fps locked 99% of the time, it will be rejected. They even go as far as saying 90FPS is recommended but 60fps is the lowest they'll go.

This has been stated by Sony multiple times. Sure the graphics may not look amazing but the VR makes up for it. There's no "ehh i'm not sure", it IS going to work otherwise it would be reported everywhere that people are getting sick left and right. There's not going to be any "30fps~" VR games or games that "run like shyt". If it can't run, it will be rejected and won't come out. nikkas on here are funny, something is literally out and has been used by the public at shows for years, running on PS4 and somehow people are "not sure if it'll work". Lol what?? If it wasn't going to work, the PSVR wouldn't have existed. Yo, the dumb shyt I read on this forums is mind blowing. :wow: Y'all sound like fukking idiots on here sometimes.

You are getting pretty pathetic man. I am not saying that it won't work, I am just worried about the sacrifices that will have to be made in games.

The Resident Evil demo apparently looked really good, but like PT it is not pushing the hardware as much as possible due to it's small/closed quarters.
