YOUR ONE-DAYS: Rap will remain at the top next week, as Wale is expected to reach #1 . Here are this week's key debuts:

Wale (Atlantic) 140-160k

HITS Daily Double: Rumor Mill

So... Wale is barely gonna do half of what Cole did first week yet they both dropped big singles and have the same sort of fanbase. And Wale is doing less first week than Ambition did.

What's going on with Wale? I thought that Jerry Seinfeld boost would help. :youngsabo:

Still good numbers. No buzz nor big singles.

This goes to show that big singles and promo doesn't matter anymore.

Its all about reaching your core fanbase.

I feel like the best song is "Hella" and it isn't on the standard version.

That's a shame considering the quality of the album. The best of the June releases.

Have you not listened to ANY radio in the past month or so? Wale's "Bad" (both versions) gets play every hour on the hour.

And it peaked at #21 on the Hot 100...

You dudes LOVE throwing out "no buzz", "no promo", and "no big singles" when those album numbers don't live up to the hype. :patrice:

Numbers are ok. I was expecting between 180-200. Hopefully they're revised up given the quality of the album. It's possible that the numbers are depressed a little because of the wave that took place last week, but I doubt that affected too much. Maybe 10,000 albums or so.

Either way, the albums the best album that was released between the four major artists in the last few weeks imo, it's a number one record for him and I think it'll be a grower nationally, especially if that Clappers joint is a hit.

These are great numbers....160k for an album without a big big cross over single>>>

Um... Wale is on projection to do LESS in his first week than his last album... and "Bad" was a bigger single than "Lotus Flower Bomb".

Meanwhile... Cole had a lower charting single on Born Sinner than he did with Cole World. Yet did almost 75k more first week.

Y'all got to come out of those shells, man. :heh:
