Listening to More about nothing and Mixtape about nothing, along with his earlier projects,dude has his own crew and was popular enough to be the head of some youngbuls and it was right there for the taking but his first major deal probably forced his hand.

He had to sign to MMG to recoup his losses with Interscope/Warner Bros, but his "brand" and cliche but his music has suffered from it. Sad to say but dude may have peaked in terms of artistry.

I'm still checking for dude cause hes one of the best lyricists in the game but Folarin is a prime example who should have went on his Indy shyt on some Dom, Nipsey type shyt.

Shy next... But even his lil movement feels like its loosing steam. No momemnteum or buzz for this Wale album that drops next month but dude has a loyal following.

It sucks that Cole, Drake, and Big Sean have already dropped their projects because he's going to be unfairly compared to them and for whatever reason it feels like those 3 are all a little hotter than he is rigt now.

Wale has always made solid music that has been all over the place aesthetically. And he still is. He is was trashed when he first signed and called a sellout with that Gucci Mane feature on his first album. He got the same when he made No Hands with Waka but it was undeniably dope. And then when he "switched" up and signed to MMG he still got hate. No matter what he does he will still be hated on. I think he is definitely more visible than he would be if he hadn't signed to MMG. But still the same quality of music if not better at times. The Gifted was highly slept on.

People tune out an artists music if their antics piss them off. A lot of haters don't like dude so they'll trash his music without even listening to it. Kind of like how on here people 1 star threads on sight when they see his name in the thread title
