There was nothing wrong with the "ringtone" era

u are right from a $$$ perspective

money wise .......but unfortuantly artists like UNK didn't benefit from these GLOBAL RINGTONE deals that generated the labels and publishers so much bread........

Yes. It ended in like 2009 breh

We don't see a bunch of one hit wonders making catchy looks like from 06-09 anymore.

I'm glad that it did. I think that when people heard of Waka Flocka rap, people were like "WE HAD ENOUGH OF THESE WACK ASS ARTISTS, WE WANT TO HEAR ACTUAL LYRICS AGAIN!" :camby:

Ross started to put decent lyrics together in the mainstream, then Wayne (at times, before he fell off), then Drake, then Cole, etc. until now when we got a new batch of lyrical young dudes.

"Walk it Out" was when them fruity dances started to get popular.

Music wasn't bad for the purpose it was trying to Serve

Yeah, it was bad if you was expecting some Nas type shyt.

But that's your dumbass fault
What purpose was it trying to serve? Club shyt? Jay did it literally 1000x better.

It's funny how those ringtone rappers fell off the dial collectively:youngsabo:
