Wouldn't even say I'm really nonreligious. I'd say that, at least in the mindstate that I'm in now, I'm an atheist. Probably because I'm all drunk, cynical and not giving a fukk, but I feel what sucks the most is knowing that your loved ones who died aren't in some beautiful place. They aren't somewhere picking flowers, drinking nice whiskey, and playing high end video games from the future. They're not even burning in hell for all eternity, wishing the whole while that they could go back and change just one thing, make a different decision somewhere.

Nah. They're nowhere. They simply don't fukking exist. Its even scarier when you think about it and realize that you won't exist anymore either, but that's so out of your hands you can't even dwell over it that much. But the people you've lost already. The people who were there and made a great, meaningful impact on your life, none of them, in any way, shape or form, exists anymore. The proper word, I feel for it, would be extinguished.

That's the worst part. Just as Christians know that Jesus died for their sins, I know that there is no life after death. Not trying to condemn religion or slander it or bring any type of hatred towards it. I'm happy I grew up a Southern Baptist. I was influenced by some really great people growing up that I only got to meet thru involvement in the church. I just happen to believe something else. And although I want to feel another way about life, the universe and everthing (heh), I really just can't. I wonder if religious views are programmed in you from the jump like (supposedly) attraction to one (or both) gender(s) is. I dunno though.

And now I"m rambling. Salignac got me spilling my guts :to:

LOL @ all my parenthesis' breh :pachaha:

Existence is a very flexible concept breh.

@Ciggavelli mentioned kids being an extension of one's existence. I believe that your work on earth is another, for instance; I minored in philosophy and to this day I carry a piece of Aristotle and Plato's works with me, and these nikkas existed prior to Jesus' time breh. Henry Ford is known and admired by a lot of people and he's dead now, same for 2pac being loved and appreciated by some rare people who were born in 1996 (who are now 18).

It's hard for someone to just be "extinguished", because in our lifetime we usually influence more people than we usually expect to.

TL;DR: You don't really just stop existing, you exist through your work and through your children like @Ciggavelli said.

The Forest Where Hope Died
I'm not religious..but the soul is eternal..so many near death experiences where people saw something..outer body experiences where the soul left the body..you dream every nite..no one knows what dreaming is..but maybe it's play time for the soul every nite and you travel..we're conscious human beings ..where does conscious come from? Is it from our mind or is our mind a radio transmitter that transmits conscious from some place else..even if you break a radio the signal is still there..so if my physical dies the signal or soul is still there.. You don't know what life or death is, so you think you're gonna die and not exist without realizing the answers ..?
