So I have a Mazda 3 and for whatever reason that shyt feels like it takes forever to warm(it doesn't but I'm impatient) which got me thinking what is the point of warming your car outside of getting the heat to be decent in the winter?

I remember my parents telling me to do that shyt but they never provided any evidence as to why I have to do it in the first place.

Googling it now it looks like it actually doesn't do shyt. So I've come to thecoli for the tie breaker. What are yall thoughts?
Your car is fuel injected you don’t need to warm your car up before you go just start that bytch up and go it will get warm quickly

My car takes 5 minutes to warm up in the winter. Really frigid days maybe a couple minutes more.
What’s the point? So you can have fukkin heat in the car and your windows and shyt defrosted and de-iced if there was snow.
Stupid question really.

Any other season I don’t warm it up

At my old house our neighbors across the street used to warm their cars up for like 20 minutes or so every day in the winter before going to work. shyt used to really trip me out. Like I couldn’t fathom wasting that much gas warming the car up so long every day.

You don't want to push the rpm high when it's cold. Driving around at low rpm is the fastest way of getting it to warm up. Normally that's pretty easy to do without even trying, for example the streets around my house are all speed limited to 30 because it's a residential area. It takes about a mile to get to a main road with a 50+ speed limit, by which time it's good to go. But in certain situations - like if you need to pull out on a really busy road with a high speed limit where you've got to get up to speed very quickly - it's probably better to sit there and idle for a few minutes until the water temperature starts to get up near halfway before you set off
