Even without the roids, Bonds was on Pace to be a 600 home run hitter. He was already heading towards 300 before people accused him of juicing. Dude was a nasty hitter. I don't know about pure hitter but he had the best overall balance. I would say Frank Thomas in terms of raw power, or even (blasphemy) Babe Ruth.

On a side note: y'all underestimating Ichiro (not saying he's the best) but doing what he has done for so long is a statistical anomaly.

do you realize how incredible his hand eye coordination is? do you realize how hard it is to pitch to that man?

do you know how many ppl have 4000 hits combined through the pro leagues put together? the list aint long

im talking about being a pure hitter, if the shyt he does is so easy, then everyone would get to 4000 hits total. he isn't a true power hitter but read this:

thats the case im makin

Absolutely, Ichiro is the man, I watch him hit bombs in bp. I am very familiar with his past but I will check the link out anyway. But let's be honest, he is a left handed slap hitter with incredible speed and is halfway out of the batters box upon contact. He has incredible hand-eye coordination and is an all time great, first ballot hall of famer even. Not the greatest pure hitter though. Manny, Bonds, Arod, Pujols, Cabrera, Boggs, Musial, Ted Williams, Gwynn, Foxx, and don't sleep on Vlad Guerrero.
