In my opinion, it's VERY close and a great discussion, but his peers and listeners from NYC would probably have a better gauge on it.

Puff only wanted him to do the hook on "Victory" and Capone N Noreaga gave him 10 seconds to rant at the end of "Driver's Seat", talkin' bout CUT YA HAND OFF:damn:"

That’s why I said early canibus before the album

Your crazy if anyone thought busts rhymes was better than canibus when he was doing clue freestyle and dropping verses in the underground

Busts don’t got no classics, he doesn’t have an illmatic or reasonable doubt :smh:

I’m not knocking him but he was not looked at as a top 5 mc stop
I don't think you and your friends liking early Canibus pre-written freestyle material from back in the days means that everyone was thinking that he was better than Busta Rhymes.

Canibus has no good albums to even be inserted in the GOAT discussion, he has zero classics while Busta Rhymes had 5 platinum selling albums in a row, had some of the highest budget music videos, had club bangers for that era, is one of the most versatile and one of the most demanded artists for a feature.

Illmatic is better than 99,9% of the albums that got released. That's a pretty damn high bar to compare to lol

I could be biased but I don't think so

NY got way too many spittas for Busta Bus to be in the top 5

Quit quoting me with your dumb ass
Busta wasn’t better than pharoah monch or mos def, don’t got an album better than internal affairs or black on both sides

What is your argument? Are you saying busta was considered a top 5 mc by who????

Now you're moving goalpost and mentioning other rappers. Get the fukk outta here :mjlol:

Pharoahe Monch solo work wasn't as good lyrically as his Organized Konfusion years plus Black on Both Sides came out in 99 the year that Busta Rhymes had no album scheduled to be released. In 99 Mos Def was a top 5 MC.

Who are those people that called Canibus a top 5-10 rapper? Hip Hop Infinity nerds?

Busta Rhymes has been one of the most demanded artists for a feature. That is one of the top criteria's for a top emcee. When you go last on tracks like Flava in ya Ear remix that means you're the real deal. His albums sold well as I mentioned before, 5 platinum albums in a row. His several songs from his solo albums were massive back in the day.

Your only argument here was "you're crazy if you think otherwise", nah I'm the one that's done with you :mjlol:
