Above the fray.
thanks

will watch in full and comment later, but vid seems to be flawed from the giddy up.
He says...first let's start at the beginning...........................and begins talking about the atlantic slave trade?
Really? That's the beginning of a discussion about Dahomey?

If not genetically, culturally that region STRONGLY influences and makes up the customs/ways in the country where my family is from, so this vid and possible discussion interests me.

I don't know about "barbaric" but their economy being greatly based on the slave trade is distasteful and that's putting it nicely. And like @Don Drogo said they literally did not see what the Europeans were planning. At least the Angolans wised up and attempted to stop the slave trade after seeing the finesse the Europeans were pulling.

I'm not the biggest fan of those West African empires from that era(Post Songhai Empire) like the Dahomey or Ashanti and so forth

I really should say that I'm not the biggest fan of those West African post Mali*, with the exception of Kanem-Bornu

The Songhai Empire went out like a bunch of hoes :scust:
