I'm walking out my jobs break room to go eat lunch and I've got a book in my hand; an older (white) man who tries to make jokes on me sometimes says aloud (in front of like 8/9 other white coworkers) "What ya reading Monsieur? Gone With the Wind?"

Me:

"Naw, its called Black Power" and then I walked out.

shyt had me like , thought about all my coworkers that I said that in front of and was like .

I was reading a Khalil Gibran book.

I thought that Gone With the Wind comment was weird. Like either you're saying I'm some softy or you're saying I'm reading up on some slavery in the south stuff. Wtf

I think I was just on one because my supervisor 5 minutes prior to this happening confronts my coworker in front of me about being on his phone even though he's on Hus lunch, then follows up his statement with "ask this guy, he'll tell you about it" referring to me because I've gotten written up for using my phone at work, even though he didn't even handle the case. shyt had me feeling like the nerve of this dude it was unprofessional as fukk
