It's like Westbrook, Draymond, Greek Freek or some random bum has gotten one every other day this month.

Westbrook just got his second straight. Him and Draymond are tied for like 11 this season.

I always remember triple doubles being a big deal. Now somebody can get it any given night.

Either the players are a lot better in this era or the defenses/competition way are weaker.:manny:

:wtf: Lebron invented the triple double?
"No one on this forum will EVER admit it but LeBron lowkey inspired a generation. Became more about stuffing a stat sheet than seeing who can average 35+ ppg. Seeing all these jack of all trades freak types everywhere now."

Did not say that he invented it. Said that his style of play encouraged players to be more about being well rounded than just being the best scorer, which was what was prevalent prior to LeBron in the late 90's/early 00's.

But pretend like you can't read for the sake of keeping the hate agenda rolling breh.

I will agree that LeBron made team basketball cool again, but Jason Kidd used to fall out of bed and get triple doubles.

Draymond has the easiest route to a TD every night. Just given the amount of shooting the WArriors do leads to more rebs, and when they make them assists.

I don't watch the Bucks so I can't speak for GA

As far as Westbrook, J Kidd was the only PG getting TD's consistently

No disagreements there, but Kidd didn't have the scoring ability.

LeBron imo was more influential because not only was breh getting triple doubles but he was posting 30+ too. 4 MVPs, you know the deal. Right after the dark age era of T-Mac, Kobe, Francis etc where guys would chuck at mediocre percentages to average 30+ came a dude who proved you could be both a big-time scorer and a big-time teammate. And now you're seeing the generation that grew up watching him.

Many different factors for why you see more triple doubles. I think versatility has become just a neccesary thing to have for NBA players. Seems as if back then the skillset was more specialized and why at times certain aspects of the game might have appeared more polished back then. Now you want your bigs to be able to shoot, handle, and pass the rock at a decent enough level. In addition you want your point guards crashing the boards so then can instantly initiate the offense. It helps that it seems like we have alot more 6'2+ pgs running around who can actually crash the boards.

Oscar, Magic, Bird, Kidd, Wilt all were above average in at least 2 outta three categories and been playing for years before Lebron. In fact a prolific scorer such as Jordan holds an NBA record for most consecutive triple doubles in a season.

I could see your point if triple doubles were rare before Lebron but that isn't the case.

Yeah but kidd was rondo'ing from time to time. LJB seemed a lot more athentic. Like he wasnt stat padding.

Another underrated player who probably influenced players like josh smith and draymond that doesnt get mention enough is the late great anthony mason. I loved watching dude play.

Yeah, because NBA players of today were able to watch Oscar, Magic and Bird. :mjlol:

Listen, the most dominant player in the generation in which most of our current players grew up in was a team player. He preferred to stuff the stat sheet over gunning for 50. As a result, the league has spawned a lot more versatile players. Similarly, the most dominant player in the era prior was an absolute gunner of a wing in Jordan...and he spawned an entire generation of Kobe's T-Mac's, VC's, etc and changed guard play forever.

I'm sure you'll be willing to admit the MJ one but not the other. :troll:

Listen, if you hate LeBron that's cool. But you sound like a fukking idiot.

I agree to an extent. There is so much more emphasis on versatility and all around play because of a guy like Lebron.

Last person I remember getting triple doubles a lot was rondo on the celtics. Rondo just gets them easy like Kidd. Now this year triple doubles are common for like 4-5 players.

Even Whiteside got a few:banderas:
