K.I. Gold was better than 3rd strike in most gamers opinions. SF3 dropped and it would be empty in the arcade. Now in Japan, and on the internet? You see people talk about SF3 like if it was the best fighter ever made  Before it was finally made into an arcade title on live/psn I believe it was on Dreamcast? Regardless, the game is overrated nowadays.

UMK3 wasn't better than MK2 imo which is second to SF2 on my all time list. Clay fighter and TMNT tournament fighters need more love tho imo...
Which had a better legacy in your opinion?

I was the biggest Killer Instinct fan. That being said, KI Gold was a pretty inferior port of Killer Instinct 2, made all the worse by trying to play it with the goofy N64 controller, which was the WOAT for fighting games.

The N64 controller is one of the WOAT all around. Such a trash layout all around, Nintendo with their damn controller gimmicks at times :snoop:

I was playing MK Trilogy and Mortal Kombat 4 on my N64 yesterday and couldn't agree more. Trying to do combos on that controller is damn frustrating. Doesn't help that MK4 N64 is the closest version to the Arcade version :snoop:

To OP:

KI2 was dope (notice I said 2 and not Gold) but it's not seeing 3S. 3S is like the holy grail of fighting games for a reason. Only games I see making a claim for the throne are:

Capcom vs SNK 2
Garou: MOW
SF Alpha 3

Between which games? SF2 >>> All, but Mortal Kombat has been the most consistent as of late. Street fighter lost its way trying to emulate too many different fighters. It's identity isn't as important as it once was.

Your opinions are based off of popular internet opinions. Basically, people who watch the competitions will repeat what another good player says. Because everyone knows ghat damn well street fighter 3 was considered garbage by the gaming community as a whole. I fully understand the gameplay is an evolution in the genre, but my take on the improvements is "how is that different from what killer instinct introduced decades ago" :ohhh:

KI Gold just might be the better game, nikkaz could be sleeping on it just like how the gaming community as a whole been sleeping on SF3?
