Was Soul on Ice flawless?

I mean, the album is flawless imo. The production is consistent without being repetitive, song concepts vary (from spirituality, personal life, women, lyricism, crime, etc), and the lyricism is top notch in each and every song. He had no wack features at all; shyt, even Coolio brought it.

The whole album is magical, and is in my top 10 as far as hip hop albums are concerned. I listen to an album like Reasonable Doubt, and there are like 3 songs that shouldn't have been on the album.

What you guys think? Flawless or no?

I wouldn't say it's the most lyrical. I think Common's resurrection is just as lyrical, maybe even more lyrical, than Soul On Ice.

Soul on Ice is more lyrical than Resurrection, Resurrection is great lyrically too but SOI is on another level

It's my favorite album of all time. A lot of people complain about the beats however I feel they complimented Ras' style perfectly.

It's very flawed... it's a decent album that over time has been elevated to iconic status for reasons I still ain't figured out. The beats are lacking and while Ras was great lyrically, there's a lotta nice-ass rappers who still only made 'aiiight' music... him being one of em.

love the album but if 3/4ths of the beats were different it'd be perfect, they work for ras and they're not bad but fukk...

that diamond d remix ruined a lot of those beats on SOI for me, he needed that east coast snap and those grimy, library and jazz samples.

they're definitely not bad, beats like reelisym, miami life, if/then were always just to me.

on earth, sonset, nature of the threat, evil that men do, soul on ice and order out of chaos were the standout beats to me. etc was dope too.

album still gets tons of burn and it's a personal classic but that diamond d remix always had me a little

The beats are good but I always thought he should have had more like the Xzibit circa At The Speed Of Life style beats.
