Loved this as a kid watching it as the BET movie of the week, at least 3 times.. (it was movie of the week for like a year)….I was like 13, no tv in the room, watching in the living room all late at light, thought it was so deep and tragic, I couldn't discern Bookem Woodbines painful overacting, I liked Fredro's performance too, which I think still holds up. Of course, i watched it many years later, and is far from the introspective masterpiece I considered it, but still had a lot to say, and was a great 90's hip hop movie, funny how they all mirror each other so closely. I watched all the classics like that, 'Friday', 'Above The Rim', 'Set it Off', with the sound low, in the living room by myself.
