problem for me is, these films are designed to be series. that means there's more to observe before really getting an overall idea of the vision. while i did think it was a good modern take on the Batman identity, depending on how they proceed and conclude could sway my opinion.

like, if this was the only one that was coming out, i'd probably rank it higher than average. all i saw were modern themes placed into an aging IP.

that always makes something seem like "the best" whenever it comes out because it captures what's going on NOW in life.

Great movie, 2nd best after dark knight even tho I think atleast 3 Batman were as good if not better than R Patterson variant

I actually really enjoyed it, but I can't put it above the Nolan series because I thought a lot of the performances were weak, Sarsgaard especially.

I really liked this movie. IMO probably the most comic accurate Batman in live action ever. Reeves made sure to focus on the detective side of Batman. I give it a 9/10.

As far as my ranking of the live action Batman movies:

1. Batman 89
2. Batman Returns
3. The Batman
4. The Dark Knight
5. Batman Begins
6. The Dark Knight Rises
7. Batman vs Superman
8. Batman Forever
9. Adam West Batman movie.
10. Batman and Robin.

I thought it was great and I can't wait for the next one.

A really good Year Two flick.

They need to work on him maintaining kayfabe as Bruce Wayne though.

If you don't like this you guys should read more Batman.

I thought it was cool, like a 8. I thought Pattinson did a great job tho. Much better to a fukking Ben affleck. And Zoe :ohlawd:
I feel like affleck gets too much flack, hes clearly a better bruce than pattinson. He just wasnt given good material to work with.

If you put afflecks portrayal of bruce into this movie, this is a better movie. I dont know how everyone was just cool with angsty incel bruce in this movie.

I liked Afflecks Batman too…

I really wanted to see what he was going to do with his own standalone Batman flick. Affleck is a great actor and now director, so I know it was going to be interesting at least.

You won’t find a bigger Batman fan than me, but this movie was mid AF.

Great looking cinematography and visuals, but the storyline was lacking and they tried to cram too much into one movie. They took Batman back to his source material as being a detective, but for me the character works better as a vigilante and antihero.

This wasn’t anywhere near as well written as Nolan’s take on the Batman character or Tim Burton’s Batman (1989) take on the character either imo.
