I would say that's where Naruto took a turn for the worst
Not to derail the thread but Naruto took a sharp dive with Shippuden. The original series was all about tactics and figuring out your opponents weakness. It was incredible. Shippuden quickly fell into the tired formula of powering up and fighting a seemingly unstoppable opponent. They tried a little bit to get the magic back with Jiraiya figuring out who Pain really was, but in the end, I felt cheated. He sacrificed his own life to send a message that when you think about it, was really of no consequence. In they end they still had to deal with the puppets first, which they would have done regardless if Jiraiya died or not. If anything, Jiraiya should have went back to Konohoa and got everyone ready for the fight. Things would have ended much quicker.

Trunks killing off Cyber Frieza with ease was beautiful. All of that buildup for someone like Frieza who was a fukking monster last saga, then this random dude comes in with a sword and bodies him :merchant:

i remember watching that scene as a young man like :dwillhuh: then i knew Trunks was the fukking truth

then he got downgraded to job as a kid cause good future lol :beli:
