you can say that about any hip hop album the last ten years

What I've noticed with Jay, he is rejuvenated whenver he teams up with great producers

Kanye West creative tank has run dry, Jay rode him into the ground without bringing in any new talent, and also he hasn't been working with just blaze a lot which in my opinion he has the better chemistry with. On Kingdom Come, Just Blaze easily had the better tracks on that shytty album.

96-98 Ski and Primo
99-2000 Swizz, Timberland, Neptunes
2001-2013 Just Blaze, Kanye, Pharrell, sometimes Swizz, only a few tracks from Tim

He been fukking with the same producers for far too long, he needs a some new music to draw inspiration for new flows and new topics

now for all the people who side with Dame, one thing they don't bring up in the argument that would be valid is the music was better when he was around, but they could be debated as coincidence.

I disagree with there not being any albums in the last 10 years with replay value but I can understand you feeling that way.

As far as Jay working with different producers that is a good point. I've always wanted to hear him over alchemist production but that would probably never happen because of his problems with prodigy. It would be dope if he did a project with beats from guys like black milk, exile, 9th wonder, etc

Problem is with jay he is not willing to take the risk of an album flopping so he will stick with whoever is making hit records today

Common misconception

The features on BP3 were Kanye, rihanna, J Cole, Drake, Alicia Keys, Pharrell

and if im forgettin someone help me out

Anyways 3 of them being his artists
Keys and Pharrell were no where close to hot when bp3 was released
And only one u could make a case for is Drake..with which..i mean..its only one
And even aside from that bp3 sounded like no other album and to this day sounds like any other album

Same with his solo album before that which was AG

which featured Nas, Beyonce(if u could even call that a feauture), Beanie Sigel and Wayne

Again u could only make a case for one of the artists there
So lets cut that tired ol misconception of Jay not being risky always sticking to whoever is making hit records :myman:

I was referring to jay working with underground producers but in regards to your point about the features on BP3 all of those artist were huge international stars with the exception of Cole. It doesn't matter if they were "hot" at that moment, an Alicia Keys feature is a big deal even if she hasn't had an album out in 5 years

My point is you are not going to see a Sean Price type feature over a black milk beat on a Jay-Z album because it doesn't make business sense

or maybe its because nobody wants to hear that shyt

I'm just using sean price as an example. I'm not necessarily interested in jay rhyming with underground rappers but if he did a Covert Coup type of project with alchemist or a 9th wonder I would be interested

It was very good album, i liked it, but overrated.

Remember when i :snoop: @ ppl saying this is anything but an extravagant baller rap album with some rudimentary ''concious'' raps thrown in to not make the self gratifying overbearing. WTT coulda been Mitt Romney campaign music, ''Look how rich i am, but see me see you'' :scusthov: That's pretty much the theme of the album, and what (black) journalists used to defend Ye & Jay when they were coming under fire for being out of touch, few months later dubbed Romney & rethugs out of touch for their economic policy built on the same premise :lolbron:

So ye, good album, but not the ground breaking socially relevant work we were told it was.

jay worked with 88 keys, hit boy, S1 on WTT none of those guys are big producers. same on bp3 he worked with unknowns. expecting him to do a whole album with 9th wonder is ridiculous. also 9th wonder hasn't made a hot beat in a decade

Yeah he worked with those guys and produced an average album just like every album he's released since the black album. Maybe those albums are good to you but for me I have no desire to listen to that. Again my point was replay value, if something is good you want to go back and listen to it months or years after it drops and his recent work doesn't have that to me
