My reason for buying it on PC has nothing to do with resolution.

First off the nvidia specific features add graphical depth to the game that no other version has. Have you seen some of those screenshots at ultra settings? Dat water

It's all about gameplay and honestly Watch Dogs has MORE than enough content to justify a purchase. I'm about 7-8 hours in...only on chapter 2. There is a lot packed in the game and it's fun. So, as long as the game has that nobody is gonna give a damn. The next gen of games hasn't started yet, we are still in post-last gen anyway. The next gen starts when that New Batman comes out.
