my grandma, once a sweet old lady, is now cussing people out when they try and feed her. she says she sees dead people. she has imaginary conversations with them.

dementia's a motherfukker. I never wanna get old

Hey real talk my mother-in-law has the same issues and we've been giving her steroids...her mind is still gone but the doctors say she relatively healthy and could live for a little while

just went to my uncle's 50 birthday get-together and he looked as youthful as ever!!
he was cracking jokes left and right, there was a slide show of his life and he was telling us about every picture/memory with a clarity of a younger man.
my 72 year old grandma was also there and although she's having problems with her knees, she was full of life and happy to see the whole family!!
was telling all kinds of stories about her sons,daughters and grandchildren!!
was a fun night!!
wouldn't mind getting old like my dad,uncle or grandma!!

Just saw my grandma last week. She is getting thin and is falling asleep at the drop of a hat while just sitting. She say that she is eating better but...........its spooky man. I never had a close family member die on me.

Be happy for them. Enjoy every moment you can. Not everyone gets to live long. Its a challenge when their health goes out on them but stick together, they need it more than ever at that point.

Grandmom's riddled with dementia and doing all the odd handbag things that comes with it (Not bathing, talking to imaginary people who been dead for Decades, flooding shyt etc....) and my Granddad, while still here mentally using a cane now and requires us to give him meals as opposed to him cooking for himself.

Their home used to my primary home where I could chill and play video games without having to hear shyt from anyone....place's A ghost town now with two occupants that don't even interact with each other while we all drop in St various times, clean up, leave food and water and be out.

fukk Television for having me think my grandparents would turn into wrinkled, old grizzled Sages of advice and wisdom in their dotage. I pray to science my mom's don't get like her the next 20 years or so down the road...
