i dont get how Ozymandias was able to outsmart dr. manhattan, a god..

wouldnt manhattan see that Ozy was gonna trick him

My question is are y'all asking regarding the movie reason or the book reason??


Both reasons where explained, could've swarm in the movie Ozy did something that kinda confused Dr. Manhattan's senses. Remember how in the end this dude was like talking in the present and future at the same time and came off kind of confused for like the 1st time in his life

Actually the reasons are the same in the book and the comic though the book goes into more detail. Essentially, Dr Manhattan sees human kind at a molecular level. Both physically and and conceptually. When you have near absolute power the trivial lives of humans becomes insignificant and he sees creation/destruction as a continuum that will continue indefinitely and that even if he stopped Ozymandias, that something else would rise up and do the same thing.

Ozy was brilliant he basically used a machine to block Dr Manhattans ability to see into the hypotherical future.
