To the few people on here that actually get these, how much is yours (monthly, quartlery or yearly)?
Baltimore has one of the worst water billing systems in the world. What's being done here is nothing short of extortion.
Here's how it works.
The one water company with sole responbility for supplying water to the cities residents (MONOPOLY) installs water meters into every home. The installtion costs $300.00 and according to city law (from what ive been told)every inhabited home must have one. Here's the kick, the home "owner" doesnt own the meter. Instead they have to pay approx $100.00 per quarter if it's in their property. So to be clear, if you don't use a drop of water, you still owe the company $100.00. Vacant property? If it has a water meter $100.00 a month you owe for the meter.
But check this. If the home with the water meter has a water usage between 0 and .16 there is a $100.00 fee.
What that means is that for a property that simply has a water meter your bill will be at least $200.00 per quarter regardless of weather or not you use one drop of water.
Want to get the meter removed? $300.00 lol
