Normally I’d say the same thing but Trout really is having a ridiculous season. Voter fatigue would be the only reason not to give him the award and even then we’ve seen other winners.

He’s doing A-Rod numbers this year. I can’t deny what he’s doing. Ohtani was more of a calculated pick than anything, but Trout’s numbers are ridiculous. If it was close I’d lean towards DJ, but Trout this season is bulletproof. If he wasn’t locked into a new deal maybe writers pass on him to pressure him to go somewhere else, but this is what his situation is.
