My uncle did our family tree at our last reunion. We got it all the way back to slavery on both sides. Both of those men(my grandma and grandpa side) were born in slavery, both fought for the union in the civil war. Literally fought for the freedom of their future generations which includes me specifically.
Think about that, i know of two slaves who fought specifically for me. I know their Names. I would never just write them off like that.

It’s the young misguided Black activist souls on Black twitter, blavity, the root, etc. wearing those dumb azz we are not our grandparents you will catch these hands shirts. Black women and gay dudes.

Would you wear that In front of your grandparents? Catch these hands? That’s how shallow you think racism is? Just punch a few white folks and it’ll subside?

Technically we are not. Are they using it as an insult?

Our ancestors sacrificed to make it better for us.

Yes, they typically say it to mean "We will fight back."

There's no need to present people who showed their own strength, under harsher circumstances, as docile.

Half the time, it isn't even accurate. Concept of giving white people nikka passes would have been unheard of in our parents' generation. You wouldn't have these rainbow haired Hispanics violating in the hiphop community.
