Quite interesting, and repugnant that to be accepted by white people, you have to criticize black people.
The obsession with us is astronomical.
The obsession with us is astronomical.
Are y’all preparing for war? Economic and otherwise? Cause we in it. If you not marrying black, raising black kids and making money aside from your job you failing.
What was the book called?Ok she's speaking in terms of a historian. In that case, she's right....thats what the Asians in the south did at the time. I read a book back in the day about the Asian-black relationships in the early 20th century especially in the food industry.
The thread makes it seem like shes just talkin shyt
shiiiid they was deep in gulfport when it lived thereNever saw a Asian in da sip in my life. I thought they was all about education. Why would they move to the least educated state in the country?

Yea, they deep on the coast. Before I moved down there in high school, nikkas used to tell me how in middle school they’d have an annual black vs Asian fight at school. They got some numbers down thereshiiiid they was deep in gulfport when it lived there![]()
Mostly 2nd/3rd gen and beyond were the ones that developed the accent. shyt would be mad funny to see one family member who didn't speak a lick of English, next gen speak broken English, and 3rd gen sound as country as me. shyt was wildCountry accent on a Chinese woman is tripping me out.
they're more so in the Delta area (Greenville, Clarksdale, Indianola, Greenwood, etc...). Mf's was even out chea co-opting recipes lolNever saw a Asian in da sip in my life. I thought they was all about education. Why would they move to the least educated state in the country?
hell, Asians were considered "white" until the 1970s on the Census just like Arabs are now. Gotta keep them numbers upIrish immigrants did the same thing in the 19th Century.
Mexicans were considered "White" and given Civil Rights 100 years before Black people.
"White people" aren't a race, but a class.
Wait until you hear a Trini or a Yardie accent?Country accent on a Chinese woman is tripping me out.
This man knows! Where you stay at in Greenville? My folks stayed by Lucky's off Alexander or the one Asian joint over by Orlando/Nelson if you know any of them spotsBro I’ve seen plenty of Asians especially in the delta where I’m from (cleveland, Greenville area) lol. They owned the liquor stores and corner stores where I’m from. A lot of them moved to the delta for the farm land cause it was similar to the land they were from to grow ANYTHING.
Thank you. I'm not American but know these things. I was encouraged by my history teacher to look these things up.All this shyt is common knowledge to real nikkas

What was interesting is a lot of the Chinese folks were fully aware of the shyt cards black folks were given and there is several of them who said that they found no value in throwing in with black because they were poor and treated badly. They wanted to join in with the dominant group when the chance arose.
But there is also a sizeable amount who dealt with the racism Chinese people face by saying fukk white society, we will just build our own and not bother integrating with white society or black society. I have to respect that to some extent...
But there are also several Chinese people in the film who threw in with black folks and intermarried with them.
Overall it's a good film that give you a raw look at a small part of Southern America.
