it's cause the Apollo hasn't been relevant in ages, and you have an entire generation who's grown up not giving a fukk about the Apollo being the barometer of talent it was for folks who grew up in the 80's and before that.

the fans were always the judges, now they got doug fresh, gladys knight, mike bivins as judges. shyt got a american idol type feel to it. the 2012 sandman is corny as fuk, you can grab a random wino off 125th who'd do a better job than that nikkka.
