We really need to worry about making our own HIGH QUALITY (classy, elegant, professional....read: not the BET awards) awards show.

The only thing we should be complaining about is whitewashing in movies, like with Gods of Egypt or Exodus.

Anything else looks silly. We sound like we're begging to be a part of their awards show. You don't see Asians begging. You don't see Arabs begging. You don't see Hispanics and Indians begging. Why are we? They have their own high quality awards shows. Why don't we?

I caught that too. Only reason they don't "beg" is because they're immigrants and can be told to fukk off back to their country, which they gladly do. Where can black Americans fukk off too? Who's to say we don't have our own film fests, award shows, galas, committees, guilds, etc? A lot of them fly under the radar. You don't see Ryan Coogler complaining even though he was snubbed, or even Mara and Salim Akil, they do their thing. This was Will and Jada blowing it completely out of proportion for their own interests.
