interesting predicament for prospects. do you stay in college and basically get guaranteed money (albeit less than an NFL salary in theory) or do you declare after 2-3 years and enter a land of uncertainty?

imagine how much a&m could've paid manziel if NIL was around. the creh might have never made it out of college

Johnny Football would have been on his Van Wilder shyt, Super Senior :dead:

No but that's not the point of what I'm saying. They don't have a salary cap for coaches in the NFL but do for the players. Like I said in another post, I'm all for players getting paid even the NIL deals but you literally have some kids that get nothing at all. When you can outright buy players that's gonna eventually kill college football. They have a cap in most pro sports for that very reason.
Stars SHOULD be getting paid more

Tim Tebow was EVERYTHING to gators football from a marketing perspective

So was Johnny Football to the Aggies

Why are y’all trying to take the open/free market concepts away from college sports?

Why should every kid get something?

Because whether they're a star or not, they still contribute.

Not saying they shouldn't make more, just saying that all kids should get something and at some point there should be a cap on the most they can get mainly because what you do at that point is eliminate competition. They also need coaches salaries to be curbed too and they need a revenue sharing program at the very least. Keep in mind NIL doesn't hurt the bottom line for the schools at all because they still aren't responsible for the money that the players get. What you have are boosters unregulated out in the open paying publicly instead of behind the scenes like they used to. That doesn't benefit the kids overall like it was intended to do, it's just pulling the curtain back on what was already going on.
