As funny as it sounds right now, it's more than possible.

The East is wide open. If Wade loses weight and can play 65+ games effectively and be fresh for the playoffs and Bosh can return to his Toronto form with all of his freedom, they're as good as anybody else in the East.

If Carmelo Anthony doesn't sign with Chicago, any team in the East is a potential Finals contender. The team that won the most from all of this is Indiana, but if they continue to implode like they did at the end of last season, and end up losing Stephenson and/or Hibbert, they're right there in the middle with everyone else.

I honestly could see any of these teams - Cleveland, Miami, Chicago, Indiana, Brooklyn, Washington - in the East Finals next year, and wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta, Charlotte, and even Detroit depending on what SVG can do were pushing teams in the playoffs as well.

And this would actually mean we'd get to see LeBron vs. Wade in the playoffs... which for all of the bytching and moaning people did about "today's players don't want to compete" and "I loved to see them against each other" never actually has happened.

It's funny, I thought about the Raptors maybe a couple of minutes after posting but by then I was in JBO getting my :demonic: on and didn't feel like making the edit.
