No thank you, I think there should be a moratorium on biopics and war movies for a while

I understand the frustrated with the saturation of almost "every" artist having a biopic now, but Marvin been overdue for a biopic.
It's been over 20 years since the so called 2 greatest rappers alive died and look at the 2 movies we got about their lives? I'd rather these movies weren't made at all than be put in the wrong hands. Look at get on up for instance the only thing that saved it from being certified trash was the lead

I feel you.

When it does work tho, which is here and there, it works. The Temptations movie, The Jackson 5's American Dream movie and The New Edition Story.

give me a thorough documentary that spans his life and music...Marvin hap his so may periods to his music---i'll be doggone/grapevine to Tammi Terrell to lets get in on/whats going on/ hear my dear to sexual healing. Twenty years of amazing music that went across so many styles....add that with his personal life and i think it would best captured in a documentary form.

A Marvin Gaye biopic would be too draining to watch if done properly. The man was truly a tortured soul and it would take a hell of an effort to capture his life accurately on film. I'd much prefer an in-depth documentary.

I'm pretty sure there's a TV movie with Jesse Martin in the works. He certainly can pull off looking like Marvin, at least.

I hear you and yeah, he was. But we've had biopics done on other tortured souls too. People like Whitney, Ray Charles, Kurt Cobain, Basquiat, Amy Winehouse and the list goes on. All of these people had challenges and demons they were faced with. :to:

It won't happen...Any Marvin biopic has to be critical of Berry Gordy plus cover his marriage to Berry's sister Anna which a a mess. But if this is covered in the screenplay, then guess what?! Motown won't license any of his or their music to be in the film, which is crucial to tell the story.
