Rhythmalism is an awful album. I came to this conclusion drunk as hell in Venice on superbowl sunday when it was 1 of 2 cds i had available. It's TERRIBLE. I was super twisted and couldn't even get remotely right to make it home by how soft those silly ass grooves sounded. Eventually drove back to the valley to silence.

that album is great to me. a underrated classic. his 2nd best right behind safe + sound :wow:

i don't see how anyone could not like it unless you just not a fan of funky, smooth, and party music :yeshrug:

quik really is more of an r&b (funk falls under this category) like producer than he is the typical "hip hop" producer, in his approach and style of production. he hails back from the old school days of r&b and funk music like zapp, george and curtis mayfield with his music

It's awful, G. I had tricked myself into thinking it was dope for a stretch out here in the LA sunshine. It's saccharine horseshyt. It's the audio equivalent of the picture this thread is based on. Absolute trash. Curtis Mayfield has nothing to do with "funk" the way you think btw.

nothin' about the music on that album is bad unless you just don't like funky, smooth and melodic music

and when i mentioned curtis, it was only in reference to r&b/soul music and quik's approach as a producer is similar to that of era in a way. i wasn't sayin' curtis mayfield was a funk artist per say (although his music had could be funky)

fam. be serious. play hand in hand right now and not question why. shyt is maybe 2.5 steps above innocuous latin music.

hand in hand is a classic :whew:

quik and 2nd ii none all came with with it, the beat is all that and then some and then el debarge is on the hook! it don't get no better than that :wow:

i be steppin' like a muthafukka to this shyt :stylin::blessed:
