America won't "fall" in your lifetime. If it was going to happen it would have happened 40 years ago. The country was coming off the depression and the World Wars and being slammed by Civil Rights, and managed to keep the sheeple coddled through that....

If anything I expect the next Pres. to print MORE money, raise the debt MORE, increase inflation, etc.

Long as we use funny money in this country they can control it and ensure it will never fall....

That comparison proves nothing, that was then this is now.....and the situation now isnt the same at all. We are actually seeing things fail in front of us piece by piece, we narrowly saved ourselves in 08 by patching leaks, now weve sprung more leaks while the old ones will soon open up again. This century faces a lot of problems that didnt exist in the 70s, i personally think when our negative impact on the environment starts to catch up to us, we might be looking at a perfect storm(no pun intended).

ive been outside the country twice, once to canada and twice to the Caribbean. Obviously canada is similar to us but i definitely favor america to them. Dont get me wrong america is the most fun/interesting country to live in, probably. But there will be a time when we gotta make wise decisions for the future, give up some of the cool aspects of america for a better future.

Ppl have been talking about the country would fall soon for the last 60-70 years. I don't see it happening. Like the guy said, so many ppl look towards and depend on the American economy anyway. There are changes being made in the world but the American dollar is actually on the rise. I know because I've lived abroad for the last two years Nd I transfer money back home to pay off loans.

You act like America hasn't been corrupt pretty much since it's "founding" I think the recession is just a transformation.

Now to look at Greece and Spain. It bigger than them just suddenly falling into depression. Their fall has come from their culture. The culture of laziness or being laid back. Not wanting to work at all. How do I know? I talk to ppl from Spain and ppl who were fleeing from the situation.

Inflation, national and individual debt, the deficit, and the growing burden of SS and welfare programs on less people earning less dollars with a lessened purchasing power is gonna put the US in a pretty bad position. Few countries are outside of the sphere of influence though so they will be coming down with the ship to a certain degree. I don't think the US will outright fail, and there are still opportunities to succeed if you are savvy enough and make the right moves at the right time, plus safety and minimum living standards will always be very strong comparatively speaking, but there are some better options out there.

A quick way out is teaching English overseas, as some have mentioned. They have a very good program in the Czech Republic and also in Korea, amongst other places. Other than that, or securing some other work visa, it isn't easy. Some people think they can just up and leave indefinitely, and in some cases they can sneak by, but it isn't that easy really. Especially without substantial shoe-box money.

My dad has been living in the USA for 35 years. My grandfather sent him to Italy at age 14 in '76 and then in '78 he came here to finish school.

He's done accounting, driven taxi, got an engineering degree, worked in businesses, started businesses, etc in that time. Couple years ago he was like I have to get back to Somalia, the money ain't here in the US anymore. Luckily, I found a job after graduating and then the last year he's trying to set up a business to get income coming in over there in Mogadishu.

And boy, they ain't lying. There's money out there and untapped markets. Problem is, everything is tied to the Dollar, and I don't see it collapsing soon but it will keep getting weaker and weaker.

It's gonna be time to get silver and gold brehs.
