Ive never counted calories in my life. I've always been a slender/athletic looking mf, high metabolism so I've never really needed to pay attention to my calorie intake. Plus I'm a gym rat so I figured considering the amount of calories I burn daily who gives a shyt how many I consume...
Rewind a few months ago, I decided to tweak my diet a little.. Gyms are filled with "experts" on nutrition and shyt. So one of em was telling me how to increase my daily protein blah blah blah.. This mf yapping about how he eats a whole t-bone steak for lunch 3 times a week blah blah.. So to make a long story longer I decided I'm gonna try that. Drastically increase my protein see what happens. I began to bulk up some and noticed significant gains in my strength level. Lifting, benching squatting heavier weights. But after about a month I noticed I was generating somewhat of a semi beer gut... and I'm like
So then I started to dissect my diet meal by meal day by day to see what changed and why.. The calories
I was consuming at a minimum around 5000+ calories a day. Pizza. Taco bell. Burger king every other day (pleasure eating/ comfort food)... One taco bell combo is like 1500 calories alone. Pizza 1500 calories. Bag of chips 300 calories (×3 a day). A cup of juice 200 calories and on and on..
So 3 weeks ago I went zero tolerance on all junk food. No chips. No pizza. No taco bell. No juice or soda. ..just baked chicken brown rice and water or sparkling water (or the equivalent with other foods low in calories, salmon, Quinoa etc).. measured portions. Eating until I'm satisfied versus eating until I'm "stuffed"
Since then the "beer gut" has vanished and my abs are flat again
I guess this is what people call "cutting"
