While I agree, celebrity worship is mostly an issue in homes without standards and a blueprint(no pun intended). You will never get people to look up to a postal worker like we do Jayz:mjlol:

Being a doctor seems just as unnatainable unless you grew up in a house or neighborhood full of doctors. Even being a postal worker who became wealthy just from hard work seems unnatainable. Unless youve seen it with your own eyes. But when you live in the hood, you may not see these things firsthand.

There was some thread late last year, probably zay thread, where women were claiming that they'd rather have a dude that can hustle and get money in an hour over a dude that makes six figures working a 9 to 5. she claimed waiting for the man to give you a check at the end of the week is some soft nikka shyt or something like that.
considering that stance i'd say that while people won't ever realistically look up to a postal worker the same way they look up to jay-z, or might see being a doctor as unattainable. they can at least not look down on a postal worker the way some people do. people out there who'd rather be a struggling "entrepreneur" that doesn't know when their next paycheck is coming, over having a secure stream of income with benefits.

Pretty much, but it's still a lot more obtainable than being a pro athlete or famous musician. Also someone who fails to be a doctor has more professional opportunities than someone who fails to be a pro athlete

I look favorably on the people who make our society function.

If postal workers didn't exist, how would I get my packages and necessities that are mailed to me from states away and sometimes continents away?

If janitors didn't exist, the bathrooms would be nasty and filthy everytime I enter them. The trash would be overflowing.

If those cart guys who be outside the store collecting shopping carts didn't exist, there would be nowhere for me to park because carts would be everywhere. When I go inside the store, there would be no carts for me to grab.

If lawn specialists didn't exist, the world would look like a wilderness.

I don't look down on any man or woman. I appreciate them for what they do to make our society work. Our society needs everybody.

Yes,but at least we see many rappers and athletes who come from where we came from. Who are doing something that looks like it could easily be obtained by anyone, even if you arent that smart.(rap moreso than sports). Young people arent thinking about the fact statistically its not as likely.

Plus lets face it, alot of black people have the wrong idea about what school actually is. People expect school to educate your child to their max potential. Then determine where the child should fall in life. So standards usually arise from what the school tells you your child is.

People who become dentist and doctors, probably had standards that made them become who they were in school. It will be very difficult for your child to decide they want to become a doctor, dentist, architect at 17 years old. I believe these to be occupations that wouldve taken a different type of work ethic learned at home early. A work ethic NOT INSTILLED IN SCHOOLS.

Many parents of poor, uneducated backgrounds wouldnt know what it takes. Salute to those parents who do have the foresight to know, and push their kids. Even if they didnt achieve it themselves,or have a blueprint.

Work ethic starts at home, these schools arent pushing your kids to be more than passable students. And if a passable work ethic is all you have, there will be many "attainable" careers you arent cut out for. Parents think just because their kids make passing grades,it means they have the capacity to do any career they choose.
