With recent events happening we need to talk about the mental health crisis going on in black America. Its becoming a very big problem. More than ever black people are suffering and sumtimes taking their own lives. Its starting to approach epidemic levels. People are hurting and not getting the help they need. The black community is being under served by mental health providers and its really fucc'd up. We got to get our family and friends to reach out for help cuz its out there for them if they would just simply ask. Alot of black people don't get help for mental health because of the stigma that comes along with it and that shyt needs to stop cuz its hurting our family and friends who don't have to suffer alone. Nobody wants to be labeled with a mental illness cuz of what other people will think and its destroying our community especially black men. The rate of black men committing suicide is on the rise and it doesn't have to. We need to let our people know that they can come to us and we won't judge them for how they feeling.

The one thing to me that's tough with mental health these days, regardless of race, is that everybody seems to be filled up with they own issues. And overstimulated due to fast and hectic lifestyles and media/smartphone overload etc.

So while I would like to lend an ear, and listen to a friend that's 'goin thru it', a lot of times it can be draining to me to be emphatic and listening to others, if I'm in a period where I'm feelin sorta f'ed up myself...

This is my problem i just experienced with my cuzzin she reached out to me with her problems and I tried to be there for her and after the 3 hour phone call I was mentally exhausted and very triggered. I wanted to go get high and escape cuz I didn't have anybody to talk to about how I was feeling. And then it was all for nuthin cuz she didn't follow thru with the plan we came up with. My daughter told me to stop being there for errybody when I have nobody to be there for me. But its in my nature to help people i can't just not be there for people when they reach out to me. But it be fuccd up when it fuccs with me mentally and I have no one to help me out. That's y sumtimes i don't like being bothered with people but the fact i know i can b of help to people always takes precedence. Ive been through alot in my life and sumtimes i feel like that's my purpose in life cuz I can relate and help people through shyt but i b conflicted cuz of how I feel afterwards.

I dealt with a person who was depressed and talking that suicide bs. It was very frustrating because she needed help but sometimes just felt like she wanted attention. I really got tired of listening to her story because we would talk about it every week and she would never want to go get help. If you have mental illness you need to talk to a professional. She never wanted to to talk to one or anybody but me. And then when life got hard for her, she would partially blame me when she wanted to hurt herself. It was frustrating. I was so relieved when she cheated on me. That was dudes problem now. It didn’t last long, though.

The thing is when everything is good it’s aight. But whenever something went wrong then all these emotions and problems would come to fruition out of nowhere and now I’m the reason for it

I can't tell who really had issues and who doesn't anymore. Its trendy now

But exercise, healthy eating, reading and sunlight are necessary and strongly suggested by me :manny:
U can tell who has issues and are for real about getting help and who doesn't. I will admit alot of people are just doing it for attention cuz of the attention it gets them. And that's what makes people not want to b of help. Once I see a mf ain't trynna help themselves i back off cuz a person won't get help until they want to help themselves. Some people go through the whole process of asking for help and then when they get help they don't follow thru and that's upsetting and fowl cuz it turns otherwise helpful people off.
