Everyone wanted to end crime in the 90s. EVERYONE.

Too many people got locked up and too harshly and people want to fix that. Even Kamala was LEGALLY BOUND by law at the time to crack down. Mandatory sentences were and are a thing...and Kamala was even considered a progressive prosecutor!

Times change.

yall gotta remember that until 2014, NO ONE was taking criminal justice reform seriously.

On the other hand, Democrats should have better candidates. We shouldn't just ignore the criticisms and the candidates should be asked tough questions and be 100% vetted. You know your talent pool is lacking when part of the reason for Biden's decision to run is based on the fact that he is determining whether he's the only person that can beat Trump. And he most likely is the only person that can beat him.

It's not just about the name recognition. He's a "moderate democrat "(i.e left of center) in the mold of the Clintons and Obama. These are people that are more likely to push bi-partisan agendas and will usually be in the pockets of corporates. Real "liberals" don't have a chance imo.
