We should've made him president.
Just imagine how much better that could be!

He was such an integral part of childhood for myself, as well! He's still so good at sparking that love for reading. I also remember watching Star Trek: Enterprise with my mama, and I would always be sooo excited to see him on screen

“Kindness & truthfulness”. If Trump hears this he’ll ban all LeVar’s reading materials from schools, if he already hadsn’t.

Oh my god. He is such a good human being. I wish I could call him my friend. To misquote Warren Zevon, he’s a credit to his nation.

I didn't even see the image and I knew who you meant.
LeVar Burton is 100% the best human.

He always had the wholesome persona with “Reading Rainbow” but saw an interview with him recently and glad to see that he does not suffer fools lightly.

Years ago when he was very young as well, I used his videos in my Elementary classroom all the time as an extra person to read to my kids. What a treasure.

Butterfly in the sky, I can fly twice as high. Just take a look, it's in a book, A Reading Rainbow.
I can go anywhere. Friends to know and ways to grow, A Reading Rainbow.

I used to take notes as I watched Reading Rainbow so I could go to my local library and check out the featured books. It blew my mind that the books on Reading Rainbow were always there, too (it was the 80s & 90s in S. Central LA), but if my library didn't have it, they'd get it from another branch

AND THE LIBRARIANS WOULD BE HAPPY TO DO IT!!!! I usually felt like I was underfoot as a kid, so seeing adults BE GLAD to go out of their way was new. Reading Rainbow was the first show that made me feel like I mattered. It made me tap into community resources that I never would've known about.

Also, my baby shower was Reading Rainbow themed. To say the show shaped me, how I saw myself, and how I perceived reading, is an understatement
