A lot of Coli nigs were sleeping on the Cardinals especially when they played the NFC "powerhouse" like Seattle after that debacle LAST year. Everybody was laughing at Carson Palmer, saying he throws interceptions EVERY game, saying he's one of the worst starting qb's in the league. I guess the Palmer interception thread got buried along with the rest of the anti-Cardinal threads around here. :smugfavre:

Over the last 9 games of the season Palmer completed 65.7% of his passes, averaging 281 yards/game with 16 TD's and 9 INT's for a 96.5 QB rating, which would rank 8th on the season among all QB's.

If you were to average that our over a 16 game season it would be -

65.7% completion percentage
4,496 yards
28 TD's
16 INTS's

And this is without our starting left guard (Cooper) or a adequate left tackle. Now add the KC LT B. Albert as a top FA, resign Dansby, add a top TE (Ebron)/SS(HAHA Dix)/or a QBOF (Hundley) with our 20th pick and we got ourselves a superbowl contender. Tell me im wrong. :birdman:

you still need a qb, he still threw 16 ints no matter how you try to spin it

When our oline started to gel, Palmer looked like a pro bowl qb. That was without our starting left guard and a quality lt. Most of those interceptions were made during the first half of the season, and the offense was still getting in-synch. Now he will have a year under his belt with upgrades to the oline, which will make him put probowl numbers like the last half of the season. I think we will draft our qb of the future who I am hoping it will be Boyd or Hundley if he declares, but most likely will be Murrey or Mettanburger.

no matter what palmer is a int machine. you cant win the div with a guy like that, with your defense if you had a qb who has less turnovers you could win the west. you gotta follow the niners/hawks formula

THe thing is, our coach thinks read-options qb's like Wilson/Kaepernick/Foles are for college. He likes more traditional pocket passers. With that being said, I DO want a qb who can extend plays and work with his feet, ala Boyd. For now Palmer is serviceable. Trent Dilfer won a superbowl with a 76 qb rating.

I also think that the NFL will catch up to those read-option qb's. Our defense knew what made RUssell Wilson ticked, and the rest of the nfl will watch how we have done it, and soon will follow suit. The only reason why they lasted so long because the 69ers and the Seahacks are the top two most complete teams in the NFL. Put Palmer behind those lines and he will be in the pro-bowl.

Palmer has gotten better with the team through the season. He should be able to help win some games for a year or 2 while the Cards look for a young franchise QB.

Indeed, he can hang on for another year or two, when we fix this oline. Our no 1 pick is returning along with the front office will be perusing hard after KC OT.

I am thinking we go TE or BPA in the first round, while getting our QBOF in the second or third.

The crazy thing is, even if the Cards pick some good players, it will still be difficult to get a playoff spot in this division. Even the Rams will be much better next season.

I think its even harder for the Seahawks to retain all their players after this season, rather they win the superbowl or not. They have to pay Wilson, Avril, Thomas, AND Sherman if they want to keep their core. With that being said, I believe the hacks will be weaker next year. We already figured out how to beat them. It;s the 69ers I worry about though.

As long as Sam Bradford is their qb, I belive the Rams will forever suck. They need to replace that bum. Another year under BA's system, along with our key players returning, and the Cards will too be improved next year. :win:

Not a bad plan

I agree, sign Albert in FA, draft a right guard and/or center, and a DE to replace Dockett and we are set on the line alone. This team is built to win now with a two-year window.

Nice to see Fitz get a pro bowl spot even on a down year. Still wish he would restructure his contract though. Hoping Keim can work something out with him.

Fitz blatantly said he won't take a pay cut, but he will have to restructure if we were to resign Dansby and go after B Albert from the Chiefs. I thought he was a all-around team guy :snoop: He is clearly on the downside of his career.
