The whole point of acting is people playing dress up and make believe.
Tired of all these people trying to get "authenticity" in casting, We need actual deaf people to paly deaf, need actual fat people to play fat, need actual lesbians to play lesbians etc ect. Those same people turn around and complain when they get type cast.
People seem to agree with this logic when it comes to british actors playing americans though.

Thespian are weirdos. Everything has to authentic...rape scenes, sex scenes, death scenes, domestic violence scenes. I remember the chaos behind Dakota Fanning in a child sex abuse scene...caused alot of chaos.

The need for authenticity is bizarre with this people.

So they wanted to keep the patois "authentic" but they removed scenes with Peter Tosh, the man taught Bob how to play guitar in the first place. You can't tell a Bob Marley story "authentically" without him.

If anyone is expecting the accent and patois to be on point they're just fooling themselves. Outsiders can pick up patois, but they're gonna pick up the watered down version of it. Real yard Patois is hard as hell to understand from an outsider perspective. I remember the first time I was in Brownstown a city in the hills of St. Ann's bay and this dude said "Ray Ray"... I looked this man dead in his eyes and said "who's ray ray?"

"Ray Ray" is basically a play on words to convey "Such and such" or "this and that"... This man was older and even other Jamaicans couldn't grasp all the nuance of his dialect. Unless they start producing high level Jamaican acting talent, this is what's going to happen.

Storm needs an actress who can at least do the accent well.

I don't know about the politics, but what i do know is that these english actors are so common now that i'm starting to pick up on the mannerisms.
It's ruining the immerision for me. I give an example

They mad he ain't jamaican and that his accents is likely gonna be terrible like bushmaster in the luke cage series.
They prolly right too, in my experience that accent is tough to fake and actors usually sound terrible attempting it.

again your comprehension failed terribly with this take. I've always been of the opinion that british actors don't do very good regional accents. That doesn't conflict with my take that you don't need to reflect the exact background of the character to be cast in a role.
