seems like thats where it sounds came from the interview
How the Producer of the Weeknd

basicallly for those that dont want to read his producer pretty much changed the weeknd from making typical rnb to the dark project we first got with house of balloons he produced the 4 leaked tracks that gave the weeknd the widespread recognition and the weeknd in return didnt give him any credit or even pay him for producing the tracks.

sidenote they used to be a group called the weekend but he dropped the e due to his producer not wanting to be apart of it anymore since the weeknd was trying to go the club route rather than take more input on his music

Certz Up ..... Hoezzzz down .....
not really all, a lot of producers get paid for tracks on mixtapes. Otherwise they do it for the promo/credit or respect the culture and wanna hear good tracks over their beats.

your absolutely right! i meant to say tech·ni·cal·ly every producer gets fukked :takedat:

when them songs blow up :ooh: the math is inevitable :heh: but its hip hop! :win:

:yeshrug: :steviej:

Damn, The Weeknd looks mad shady now. Good interview. Great insight on Abel.

:mjpls: I now have a strong distaste for his personality. Thats probably why he didn't initially release his tapes for money -- so he wouldn't have to pay Jeremy.

Poor kid. I hope he gets another in the music industry.

well I feel anyone can easily get screwed in this biz cuz everything is based on perception. ie.

a dude can write a hook for a song that really blows it up
however the artist that wrote 3 verses feels he has a bigger piece of the pie because he contribution was longer than a repetitive 4-8 bars, even tho those 4-8 bars is what made the song...there is nothing in black and white from the get go and its impossible to predict the future.

Weeknd still gave him credit on the liner notes for The Trilogy...so business wise...they most likely patched things up....
