It's true, I mean hiphop is a new york thing. Most styles were created by east coast cats. So most rappers that came up during the 2000s and 90s were influenced by styles created by Rakim, Jay, Nas, Big, Atcq, krs, dipset, lox, puff and the list goes on. But also of course influenced by rappers from their own regions (to a larger extent). Now I don't think that worthless rappers like yung joc or lil scrappy were influenced by anyone from the east coast and I'm not saying that they are as influenced as Dj Premo.
